Can I use my coverage through work for massage therapy? Yes! All of our therapists are Registered. We will give you a receipt at the end of your session with your therapists registration number on it for reimbursment. I have never had massage therapy what can I expect? When you arrive you will be asked to fill out a form of health history in order to help your therapist with a treatment plan. They will talk with you about your expectations whether it is to focus on certain problematic areas or simply relax. We will explain how to rest comfortably on the table during the treatment, you will be covered with a sheet and blanket other than the area worked on. We use Holly oil a hypoallergenic oil that allows smooth flow between techniques.  If you want to experience a full body it will include the back, arms front and back of the legs and  neck if you would like particular attention to an area eg. just back and feet let your therapist know It is your time and your treatment. Feel free to ask questions or guide your therapist as to which pressure you find comfortable. We determine our pressure by the tissue resistance and intuition but it's helpful to get feedback After your massage it's very important to drink a lot of water to flush out toxins and prevent soreness the next day. You will leave feeling renewed and enjoy a deep nights sleep! Should I arrive early? 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time is recommended Your time starts on the hour you booked so if you are late you miss out on that much of your treatment Since we are located downtown Give yourself some extra time for parking it's metered for 90 minutes. What if I can't make my appointment? If you need to cancel your appointment please give us 24 hours notice 'no shows' may be subject to cancellation fees. Can I buy a Gift Certificate? We have gift Certificates available either for a numeric amount or service We can take a credit card over the phone and mail it out for your convenience. The expiry date is for one year from the time of purchase.   How many people can you acomodate? We have 5 treatment rooms with two of those rooms for couples or those who want to have their services in the same room Depending on the size of yours we can reserve the space just for you! What are hot stones? We use basalt/river stones as extensions of our own hands throughout our techniques. Basalt stones are used throughout the treatment in combination with swedish massage techniques. Deep heat penetrates the muscle tissue allowing deep relaxation, increased circulation and an overall sense of grounding and renewal. They are $6 add on to any massage service. (not recommended during pregnancy due to the increase in body temperature) What are essential oils? We use Holly oil in all of our massage treatments but as a special $4 add on we offer different blends of plant essences that will be mixed with the Holly carrier oil They are dropped on the spine and are taken up by circulation within minutes Some oils eg. Lavender has a sedating effect on the nervous system where as citrus oils like orange, grapefruit, lime have a more invigorating effect.
